The Bite will be a 6-episode drama focusing on a deadly epidemic co-produced with Spectrum Originals, CBS Studios and Taylor Schilling in 2021. The year 2009 saw her debut, McDonald portrayed U.S. Attorney Liz Lawrence on CBS's legal drama The Good Wife. In 2018, McDonald reprised her role as Liz Reddick as a regular on Paramount+'s The Good Fight. She was awarded three Critics Choice Award nods for this performance. The actress also appeared as a guest star in Julian Fellowes historical drama The Gilded Age.
